Woman Arrested in Jhelum for Impersonating Punjab CM Complaint Cell Chairperson

By axispkk · Jun 01, 2026

JHELUM: Punjab Police have arrested a woman accused of posing as the Chairperson of the Chief Minister Punjab Complaint Cell in an alleged attempt to obtain official protocol and government facilities, authorities confirmed.

According to police, the suspect — identified as Mehnaz Saeed — allegedly introduced herself to officials in Jhelum as head of the Punjab Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell and sought protocol and administrative privileges under the claimed designation.

Following verification, authorities contacted the Chief Minister Punjab Complaint Cell, which confirmed that the woman had no official affiliation with the institution.

Police said the impersonation claims were substantiated after initial inquiries, leading to the arrest of the suspect along with an alleged accomplice. A formal case has been registered and further investigation is underway.

According to the police spokesperson, liquor was also recovered from the vehicle during the operation. Reports further claimed that the accused had links with a political party’s regional chapter, though officials have not publicly connected the arrest to any broader political investigation.

The incident has renewed attention on the misuse of official titles, impersonation and fraudulent attempts to access state protocol and public authority.
