Karachi to Remain Hot and Humid as Temperatures Climb to 37°C: PMD

By axispkk · Jun 01, 2026

KARACHI: Hot and humid weather is expected to persist across Karachi today, with temperatures likely to remain elevated amid high humidity levels, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The Met Office said the city recorded a minimum temperature of 29.8°C, while humidity levels stood at 75%, contributing to uncomfortable conditions across the metropolis.

Southwesterly winds are currently blowing at around 16 kilometres per hour, with Karachi’s daytime temperature expected to range between 35°C and 37°C.

The weather outlook comes as much of Pakistan continues to experience hot and dry conditions, with particularly intense heat forecast for parts of southern Balochistan.

However, the PMD noted that isolated rain, gusty winds and thunderstorms could develop later in the day in parts of northeastern Punjab, the Pothohar region, northeastern Balochistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas.

Morning temperatures recorded in major cities included Islamabad 24°C, Lahore 26°C, Karachi 30°C, Peshawar 28°C, Quetta 20°C, Gilgit 15°C and Murree 14°C.

The latest forecast follows broader weather concerns across Sindh, where heatwave conditions continue to affect several districts, although Karachi’s coastal location has kept temperatures comparatively milder than interior parts of the province.

Residents are advised to remain hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours, and monitor official weather advisories for further updates.
